The Best Friendship Movies of All Time Inline

It has the best last line: “I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was 12. Jesus, does anyone?”

As cliché as it is, Beaches really is my favorite. Growing up, my best friend and I watched it every year at my birthday sleepover, and sobbed just as hard every time (as if we didn’t know what was coming). Like C.C. and Hillary, we’ve been best friends since we were kids, and to this day we will sometimes end a conversation with, “Here’s a dollar, it’ll keep you honest.”

Now and Then forever! I haven’t seen this movie in probably over a decade—and I’m not trying to, either. I’d rather just keep Christina Ricci and Thora Birch in all of their summertime, early-’70s perfection as they exist in my memory.

No matter how old I am or how many times I’ve seen it, I’ll never stop loving—or crying—during My Girl!

One of my all-time favorites is Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. The absurd coordinating outfits, the choreographed three-way dance, the “I’m the Mary, you’re the Rhoda” argument—it’s what best friend dreams are made of.
