Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi Celebrate Thor: Ragnarok With the Cinema Society

Marvel films are known for their energy and action, but could Thor: Ragnarok be the biggest and boldest of them all? At last night’s FIJI hosted screening at the Whitby Hotel, all signs pointed to yes. With Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi on hand to introduce the franchise’s latest to the world, guests like Jason Alexander, Kate McKinnon, RJ King, and Dylan Sprouse geared up to see a fresh take on a character that has become part of pop culture. Considering that it’s the sixth film in which Hemsworth has donned hammer and cape to save a planet from destruction, the star was ready to do things a little differently this time around. “We wanted to reinvent this world,” said Hemsworth pre-screening. “[Filming] was the best experience; it was highly improvised and Taika encourages you to take those risks.”
