Da’Vine Joy Randolph Leaned Into (Custom!) Glamour at Louis Vuitton

Is there a more star-studded fashion show than a Louis Vuitton one? Debatable—but the label’s spring 2025 presentation in Paris yesterday certainly brought out an A-list crowd: The front row included Zendaya, Hoyeon, Jaden Smith, Cate Blanchett, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. “Being in Paris for the Louis Vuitton show feels like a dream,” Randolph told Vogue post-show. “The city has such a vibrant, artistic energy, and experiencing it through the lens of high fashion just amplifies that feeling. The show itself is always an incredible spectacle, and it’s an honor to witness the creativity that goes into it firsthand.”
Randolph—who dominated the red carpets during awards season, when she was nominated for The Holdovers—is no stranger to a glitzy Louis Vuitton design: She wore a custom, hand-embroidered tulle gownd by Nicolas Ghesquière to the Oscars this year. As such, she simply couldn’t miss the designer’s latest offering. “I love how Louis Vuitton consistently merges timeless elegance with modern edge,” she says. “Their pieces are both luxurious and innovative, which allows them to feel fresh but classic at the same time. That fits perfectly with my personal style, as I gravitate towards fashion that is sophisticated but has a unique twist.”
Among Joy s favorite looks from the collection were the designs that leaned into a 1980s sensibility. “I loved the Working Girl references, and all of the amazing textures,” says Randolph. “And the raised luggage runway was a showstopper.” Another head-turner, meanwhile, was the actor’s own front-row look—a black, corseted top with draped shoulders, paired with a whimsical white pleated skirt. “We wanted a twist,”she says. “My look was a custom based off of one of my favorite 2024 resort looks. Giving that effortless, timeless chic with a whimsical, playful edge that Nicolas is revered for.”
It was yet another fashion win for Randolph, who continues to deliver the glitz and glamour in Hollywood. Now that the show is over and PFW is concluded, the star says she will be taking a brief moment to enjoy the City of Light. “When I’m in Paris, I always make a point to stroll through the small streets to discover new cafés and boutiques,” she says. “There’s something magical about just wandering the city and soaking in the atmosphere—it’s always an inspiring experience.” Soon enough, she will be getting back to work, so she s enjoying the R&R while she can. “I have several upcoming projects that I am excited about, one of which is a story about Louis Vuitton s own Pharell,” she teases. “My next film, which I can t yet tell you about, is shooting in Paris, and I cannot wait to spend an extended amount of time in this city!”
