Inside Ellen DeGeneres’s Secluded Horse Ranch Inline
Photo: © Crazy Monkey, Inc.1/5Left: In one alcove of the barn I placed a large early-20th-century American worktable, vintage wicker chair, and French early-19th-century deconstructed bucket chair to have a nice place to sit. I hung the 20th-century ornithology prints myself one afternoon. Center: A French 19th-century Os de Mouton settee (with vintage suzani textile pillows) sits against a backdrop of early-20th-century German equestrian heritage duffels. Opposite the seating area, an early-20th-century Belgian worktable is used as a console, and holds a 19th-century African mask and assorted vintage Italian terra-cotta pots. Right: A horse.
Photo: © Crazy Monkey, Inc.2/5We reused our stacking chairs by Gijs Bakker around a 19th-century oval table in the kitchen of our main cabin. There’s an unusual 19th-century Swedish rug below. The chandelier is early 20th-century by O.C. White. In the background, you can see the painted wood cabinetry and bluestone countertop, as well as part of my collection of early-American hand-carved bowls and stools, with vintage fencing masks from Europe.

The kitchen has a custom bluestone counter and sink with stained oak cabinet. A vintage industrial shelving unit displays my collection of 19th-century African masks, taxonomy drawings, and American primitive artifacts. The vintage Moroccan rug in front of the fireplace feels fresh with Danish mid-century lounge chairs. The chest behind them is Gustavian.

In front sits a 19th-century French pedestal table with four antique English chairs. The different seating areas, complete with a cobbler’s bench and an early-20th-century American spindle-back bench, made for a fun place to play cards and hang out. A metal street lamp– turned–floor lamp sits next to the vintage American upright piano.
