How could Louis Vuitton show a collection in Palm Springs and not reference Robert Altman’s twisted film set in the Californian desert? Nicolas Ghesquière name-dropped the film, and on the runway its influence could be felt in the sun-bleached colors and flowing dresses.

“There’s a bit of Victoriana: something of that film Picnic at Hanging Rock. With a slight sexual undertone of darkness,” mused Raf Simons backstage at his Spring 16 Dior show.
