A Closer Look at Haim’s Coordinated Concert Looks With Taylor Swift

Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim have cultivated a uniform while on tour: Black bralette on top, big pants on the bottom. The formula is fool-proof. It always looks like something a rockstar would wear, and gives the band a nice cohesive look. Last night at their concert at the O2 in London, a fourth person joined the Haim sisters onstage, in uniform as well. Taylor Swift, a frequent collaborator with Haim, surprised fans when she came onstage to perform a mashup of “Gasoline” and “Love Story.” She wore the same Louis Vuitton black leather pants that the three sisters did, though she opted for a crop top in lieu of a bralette. 

 “When we go on stage, we want to feel powerful, and putting on our stage outfits every night makes us feel confident,” Haim tells Vogue. “These leather pants are the most perfect pants we’ve ever worn. They have the coolest silhouette, with a high waist and a really wide leg.” The pants first appeared in Nicolas Ghesquière’s fall 2022 runway collection. They feature a long visible zipper down the front seam, and buckles on the side. Perfect for jumping on the back of a motorcycle or playing music for thousands of screaming fans. 

For the show, Ghesquière paired them with a collared shirt, beige jacket, and a brown and blue striped tie—business on top, party on the bottom. Well, Haim fell in love with the pants at first sight, and with the help of stylist Rebecca Grice brought the party all the way up with Vuitton’s strappy bralettes. “Our tour style needs to be something we can move around and perform in,” they say. “We’ve always been such big fans of Nicolas and when we saw the leather pants walk down the runway at the fall 2022 ready-to-wear show in Paris, we knew we had to wear them on stage.”

Swift posted a TikTok showing the four getting ready backstage, to the tune of a children’s song with the lyrics, “he’s a copycat,” and the caption, “hitting copypaste on your friends’ looks like.” (She wore a sports bra from Vuitton with metal detailing on the straps instead, so it was more coordination than mimicry, in our opinion).
