Host With the Most! All of James Corden’s Tony Awards Costume Changes Inline
Photo: Courtesy of Michael Fisher / @mjonf751/7We wanted to keep the wardrobe tight and focused with a definite beginning and an end. Every look was custom made for James, and I wanted to give each look plenty of screen time. So much work goes into making these garments and they are seen so briefly. I wanted the audience everywhere to be able to see the looks for longer lengths and to really appreciate the craftsmanship and art that goes into designing them.

I wanted a strong look that complemented the roses. The deep burgundy tux had matte black micro sequins on the lapel: very sophisticated and classic, with a technical update.

We then swapped it out for a teal dot dinner jacket—a favorite of James’s. It also marked the transition from James as the “Host” showman to James as himself. He wore it the after-party, as it was the perfect celebratory look.
