In Dallas, Cecily Waud and Lance Scott Celebrated the Launch of LC Studio With a Stylish Soirée
When it comes to fashion and fine interiors, you can’t have one without the other, according to LC Studio’s Cecily Waud and Lance Scott. The duo officially broke into the design world as a pair at one of the most anticipated events of the year, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House.
Hosted annually in Dallas, Texas, the showhouse gathered 24 top designers from across the country to transform the iconic Old Preston Hollow estate into their own. From the cascading staircase entry to the expansive outdoor lounges, every inch of the home was dressed to the nines.
As the youngest designer tapped to participate in this year’s showhouse, Waud demonstrated her impeccable eye for sophisticated yet stylish pieces. The New York City native is an avid collector of top designers and contemporary art, which has developed her talent for seamlessly blending the worlds of fashion and design.
Her signature fusion is only enhanced by partner and established interior designer, Scott. From New York to Palm Beach, Scott has flexed his muscles curating modern spaces with his taste and flare as an associate at the highly acclaimed design firm David Kleinberg.
“Cecily is a maximalist,” Scott smiled. “She adds the layers to our spaces and the much-needed addition of color while I bring the tailored details and the references to the past eras of design that influence us all.”
The launch of LC Studio combines two forces that champion contemporary design and create effortlessly stylish spaces that breathe life back into interiors. Titled “Midnight Lounge,” LC Studio’s debut space was set in the heart of the home, the family room. Instead of a traditional place to put your feet up after a long day, Waud and Scott reimagined the gathering space as a moody cocktail lounge. “The inspiration for this room came one night when we were sitting in Cecily s townhouse in New York City,” Scott explained. “Friends were calling to stop by after their dinners just to hang out and have a nightcap. It hit us that, we needed to make a space to collect with family and friends. A bit sexier than the typical family room. Hence the deep loungey banquette and the tequila pong table.”
