The Salon: “We get trims at least once a month. Gerald at Salon Benjamin and Anthony at Andy Lecompte are usually our go-tos, but we switch it up a lot. And we do a conditioning treatment once a month.”
The Maintenance: “We’re pretty simple with our hair products. We love the Davines line, [especially] their Love conditioner! Rodin oil, too.”
The Look: “Recently our hair has actually been shorter. [It] definitely used to be a trademark and still is, but it’s fun to change it up. We didn’t have an attachment to our [super] long hair, so cutting it wasn’t such a big deal.”

The Maintenance: “I only use sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners on my hair, like Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Shampoo. I noticed a major difference when I switched. I wash it once a week. When I’m in Morocco, I typically buy large bottles of pure argan oil, which I love for conditioning my hair and adding to my baths.”
The Salon: “[A] blowout keeps my hair low-maintenance. I leave it to the pros at a Dominican salon in downtown Brooklyn where I get it blown out. If I’m suffering from flat hair I’ll add a couple spritzes of Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray.”
The Look: “I’ve always had long hair—it’s almost a trademark of mine now! It’s easy and carefree, and that’s how I approach beauty.”

The Maintenance: “I mix and match favorite hair care including Bumble and Bumble, Living Proof, Oribe, and Josh Wood for Marks Spencer—and I couldn’t resist a new shampoo called ‘Mermaid Hair,’ which I discovered recently. I also like Phylia de M. or Rahua restorative treatments. [Usually] I leave it to dry naturally, and if I want waves I sleep in braids.”
The Salon: “I get regular trims by Gary Glossman at the Josh Wood in Holland Park, London, and the occasional treatment there, too.”
The Look: “A center-parted natural wave appeals to my love of all things ’70s; I also like the freedom to play—with scarves and Alice bands, boho plaits, and ballerina buns. But one thing I tend to avoid is perfect blown-out hair. For me, Rapunzel blonde tresses need to be subverted somewhat, be that via punkish eyeliner, a low side parting, or the fastest, scruffiest ponytail on the go.”

The Salon: “My strategy [involves getting] hair treatments called ‘Soin Tokio’ once a month at David Mallett’s salon, in Paris; he’s been my hairstylist for the last 10 years. I only go to get my hair trimmed twice a year. When I’m in Brazil, I also go to an amazing salon in São Paulo for a scalp cleansing called ‘Laces and Hair.’ It is amazing and stimulates your hair growth.”
The Maintenance: “If I don’t have time [for those], I make sure to do a Kérastase hair mask. I think it’s good to change shampoos: I use David Mallett’s, Shu Uemura, Kérastase, and Moroccanoil. I [also] apply oil on the ends. Twice a year I take Viviscal, which makes your hair stronger. When I’m not working, I like to avoid hair dryers, curling irons, or anything that tends to [cause] damage.”
The Look: “I think people recognize my hair before they recognize me!”

The Maintenance: “I love Masque à l’Orchidée from Leonor Greyl and shampoo by John Masters Organics, and I apply coconut oil to the ends of my hair; I also avoid blow-drying. I take MSM supplements every day. It really fortifies your hair and skin as well.”
The Salon: “I get trims regularly, every couple of months, and I try to get my hair cut on the full moon if I can. I really believe the lunar cycle affects the growth and quality of your hair. My go-to stylist is Rebecca Plymate. She lives in New York. She has great energy and a magic touch.”
The Look: “My long hair is part of my aesthetic and my identity. I can’t imagine myself without it!”
