Despite having taken a red-eye flight from LA, where she’d hosted the inaugural dinner for her new zine about motherhood, Spread The Jelly, Amrit Tietz was bright-eyed, energized, and on music duty for the night. “It’s a good excuse to stay up,” she said.

Once seated at long, mirror-topped tables adorned with loose flowers, embroidered napkins, and chunky crystal tumblers, a family-style feast of favorites from the Jean-Georges-helmed kitchen was in store. Crowd pleasers included crispy sushi rice, tuna tartare, spicy lobster pasta, and veal piccata, while all eyes were continually on a dark-horse star of the show that wasn’t even listed on the menu: a large dinner plate-size helping of something mysterious and fluffy. Eventually, it revealed itself as a puffed-up XL portion of mac and cheese which was fast given the superlatives ”insane,” “life changing,” and “no joke.” (Even actor and dancer Casimere Jollette called her boyfriend, who happened to be in the area, to join and taste it for himself.)

Once the last spoonfuls of crème brûlée were licked clean, it was time to head out into the night—or to continue the party upstairs at the bar. Needs met, fully satisfied, and armed with the seductive new fragrance, bien sur.
