Models Brought Plenty of Pizzazz to the Met Gala 2025

The Met Gala’s guest list may count actors, musicians, and athletes among its coterie, but allow us a moment to espouse the joys of spotting our favorite supermodels on fashion’s biggest night. Because if it weren’t for these industry icons, there’d be no gold lamé turban à la Kate Moss, no Naomi Campbell adorned in that glittering Atelier Versace gown, and not one splashy look from, say, Paloma Elsesser. You catch our drift—models are an indispensable fixture on the Met Gala red carpet.
Thankfully, the Met Gala 2025 has kept the tradition alive by welcoming some of the most admired names in the modeling community to celebrate “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” A number of our favorite faces have been a supremely glamorous presence throughout the evening, embracing and embodying the evening’s dress code, Tailored for You, with panache.
Kicking things off, Gigi Hadid worked with stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson to bring her liquid gold custom Miu Miu look to life, inspired by the work of legendary dressmaker Zelda Wynn Valdes. Imaan Hammam shut it down with her sharp-shouldered, show-stopping suit look (dapper cane included). And Fei Fei Sun reminded all of us of the undeniable power of a colorful head-to-toe moment.
Top marks for the boys too. Christian Latchman (who appears on the cover of the exhibition’s catalogue in a look by Wales Bonner) set the tone for the evening with his cream-colored suit accented by a bold, black disco collar and pink floral brooch fastened on the lapel.
