“I have a lot of hair, but it’s fine and blonde, so I discovered this brand Sachajuan. It’s Scandinavian, so I guess that makes sense for my hair. They have the best shampoo and conditioner I’ve ever tried. It doesn’t weigh my hair down and doesn’t make it frizzy and fluffy either. But it does make the color shiny and bright.”

“Wearing a hat is the best way to have sun protection. My colorist Dhaniel Doud says you need sunblock for your hair the same way you need one for your skin. I use products that contain UV protection, like Color Extend Magnetics from Redken. Post-sun, I use purple toner to take away any brassy color from spending time in the sun or at the beach. And for color maintenance between salon visits, I use Redken Blonde Idol Custom-Tone Conditioner daily.”

“I ll wear a baseball cap during the day, and at night I ll spritz on a protective oil. Right now I m loving Witchey Handmade Huile d Or. I also like Redken’s Extreme Cat Protein mist, and Sherpa Conditioning Milk. I ll use a purple shampoo once in a while when my hair starts to turn brassy. My hair naturally has a lot of warmth to it, so I ll use that to cool the color down. Generally Tracey Cunningham does my color so well that it doesn t need much maintenance; she makes the highlights look so natural.”

“I pack vintage headscarves as well as a beaten-up old straw hat to protect my hair from the harshest sun, and French-plait my hair with added leave-in conditioner for long, carefree beach days. I defer to Josh Wood—one of my oldest friends who happens to be my colorist and favorite traveling companion—and for everyday, I rely on his Precious Blondes range for Marks and Spencer, which seems to keep my hair shiny and healthy without that holiday brassiness that all blondes fear! He keeps my hair low-maintenance and as natural as possible. Less is more. Minimum color, maximum swimming!"

"I use Christophe Robin’s purple conditioner. I usually leave it in for about 30 minutes, and it takes the brassy color out and keeps my blonde in. I’m in the sun a lot and that definitely helps keep my light color. I also love coconut oil and apply it to my hair regularly. It is a natural sun protectant, not to mention a super moisturizer. When I wash my hair, I put Olaplex in it. It’s the best thing for bleached and colored hair, to protect it and give it strength."
