2/12Q: What do you wear to the Vogue offices?
“I am basically wearing my Thakoon Masai plaid parka which injects a necessary pop of color into New York’s January landscape, and my black knee high boots. My idea of work dressing is a fine line between schoolmistress and Hitchcock heroine.”

3/12Q: What are some of your favorite places to go out in New York City?
“Film Forum and Pulino’s Bar Pizzeria in Manhattan; Hotel Delmano and DuMont Burger in Brooklyn.”
4/12Q: Which parties are you looking forward to this year? What will you wear?
“I always like the ballet and opera benefits because you get to attend the opening night of the performance and it always makes me feel like I am in an Edith Wharton novel. Also, last year was my very first Costume Institute Gala at the Met, and that was pretty spectacular.
I am a bit vertically challenged so it’s hard for me to find long dresses that don’t make a puddle of fabric on the floor. When I do find a dress that fits or I get something perfectly altered, I tend to wear it proudly. I am a big fan of the bright-colored evening gown—J. Mendel and Zac Posen have beautiful ones—and for less formal events, I love an embellished jacket. It looks both sumptuous, but sleekly tailored.”

5/12Q: Whose style
“I always admire the way Lauren Bacall dressed in To Have and Have Not, all tailored suits and sly humor. It may be lame to say, but I am also a big fan of my mother [Candice Bergen]’s style; from her Belgian loafers to her oversize jewelry, she always hits the mark.”
