Happy Birthday Naomi Campbell! The Supermodel Was Feted During Cannes in a Blow-Out Bash Hosted by Boss
As the sun set on another day at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, the supermodel, philanthropist, and legend of fashion Naomi Campbell celebrated her birthday. At a plush gathering hosted by Boss and set in the city hills at the Villa Julia overlooking the Croisette, hundreds of the brand ambassadors’ friends showed up to party with her.
She wore a golden, hand-embroidered, feather-plumed floor-length dress designed by Boss for the dinner, and was joined by the likes of British Vogue’s Edward Enninful, Stella Maxwell, Jordan Barrett, and Future. Robin Thicke performed for the select crowd before a charity auction in aid of Cancer Research UK was held.
Campbell then switched into a sleek white gown with a deep-V neckline and train for the after-party. After watching a series of video well wishes from friends who couldn’t be with her—among them DJ Khaled—she was serenaded with a version of “Happy Birthday.” Fire dancers spun flames in front of the Cannes city vista. Waiters carried slices of cake around on plates.
The mood was upbeat: the cognoscenti of fashion, cinema, and music spilled through the doors as DJ Cuppy spun a mix of hip-hop, pop, and throwback funk. Alton Mason, the model and personal friend of Campbell’s, arrived in a black tux, returning to the Riviera after the success of Elvis here last summer. Burna Boy and Travis Scott played the room. Julia Garner, wearing a white tux, posed for photographers. Ashley Graham danced with friends and revelers as the night went on. Sports star-turned-civil rights activist Colin Kaepernick was also spotted.
Lisa from Blackpink made a quiet arrival with TaeHyung from BTS, the former wearing a black outfit with flecks of silver that caught the party lights. Together they posed for photos with Campbell and her close friend Mohammed Al Turki.
The party went on into the early hours, music loud, the spotlights illuminating the clear night sky above. SUVs and luxury cars queued down the street outside; guestlist demands high, the caliber of talent even higher. A loose-limbed, sexy, and genuinely fun soirée for an eternal icon of her craft.
