“I’m a total grouch when I’m cold, so for me a coat that’s thoroughly Jack Frost–proof is essential. My newest deep-winter obsession is the shearling coat; I find that it’s substantially warmer than any of the parka jackets in my closet and a lot chicer, too. I have one from Coach that I’ve been wearing constantly on the coldest days. It has a hood, which is amazing, because with a crazy head of curly hair like mine, beanies are out of the question. After the snowstorm that hit Fashion Week last year, I’ve been careful to up my winter boot game this season. I’m definitely feeling for a luxe hiking boot right now and have a pair by Tory Burch that are basically invincible.”

“After an embarrassing (and painful!) fall in clogs on the Second Avenue F train platform a few weeks ago, I’ve resolved to wear only sensible shoes during New York Fashion Week. Do these Maison Margiela booties count? Maybe yes, maybe no, but I can’t stop thinking about them.”

“When the weather gets ugly during Fashion Week, I pretty much live in my EnVie heARTwork parka
—which, considering it’s made from a recycled army tent, isn’t actually as crazy as it sounds. It’s lined with (responsibly sourced!) mink, it’s essentially inclement-weather-proof, and it has a generous hood and giant pockets for my giant iPhone and giant show invitations. It gets me through everything.”EnVie heArtwork M78 mink parka, price upon request, Buy it now
