John Hardy Celebrates Its New Collection at the Amagansett Home of Reed and Delphine Krakoff

Over the past two decades, designer Reed Krakoff has gained a reputation for reinvigorating storied brands including Coach and Tiffany. In 2022, Krakoff added another string to his bow as creative chairman of John Hardy, the nearly 50-year-old Balinese jewelry company.
Last week, Krakoff released his latest collection, “Spear,” a reinterpretation of the house’s famous woven chain motif. To toast the launch, Krakoff hosted a celebration with his wife, Delphine, at their Amagansett home on Friday evening. The spectacular property, a modernist masterpiece overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, served as a perfect backdrop for a line that balances tradition and modernity.
“I wanted to create a bridge between John Hardy’s cherished traditions and a new, modern evolution,” Krakoff said. “The Spear collection does exactly that: it embraces the brand’s rich DNA through a more contemporary and universal design filter.”
The crowd was as refined as the collection. Candice Bushnell, the author of Sex in the City, wore orange, John Hardy’s signature color. Saudi Arabian businesswoman and former editor-in-chief of Vogue Arabia, Princess Deena Ali Al-Juhani Abdulaziz, caught up with Hassan Pierre, founder of Maison De Mode. Athena Calderone took in the views, while many Hamptons society staples—including designer Cynthia Rowley, public relations guru Malcolm Carfae, and entrepreneur Joey Wölffer—flitted through the party.
As attendees chatted, waiters circulated with watermelon sushi, caviar toasts, and other summertime treats. Trays of Montauk ale and glasses of Wölffer wine provided the iconic Out East libations.
“John Hardy’s unique heritage is providing endless stories to tell through this new lens,” Krakoff added. “This is just the beginning.”
