“Go ahead, roll your eyes, but I’m going to nominate Harry Styles. Not One Direction Harry Styles, but movie-icon-in-the-making Harry Styles. I’m fairly certain Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk is going to make him a star, and if that means more Harry in more Gucci, then I’m on board.”

“The combination of Sasha Lane’s totally radical double-bun hairstyle and cobalt Louis Vuitton dress at the brand’s Spring 2017 show left me speechless. The on-the-rise actress proved over the latter half of 2016 that she has an innately risky fashion sense—and her choices paid off, from a chartreuse Valentino frock with a coordinating stole to a sheer LV top and skinny pants. Here’s to more Sasha in 2017!”

“Not just because she was our January cover, but I think Ruth Negga is going to kill it this coming year—in both life and fashion. She has the ability to wear such a variety of prints and bold colors and she always looks cool, dressed up or down.”

“I love a fashionable weirdo with a sense of humor, and Lil Yachty’s style totally speaks to all my off-kilter tomboy tendencies. He brings good jokes and good vibes to the idea of color-coordinating—exactly the kind of thing I want to bring to my own wardrobe in 2017. And given that he has a new album on the horizon, it’s likely there will be more winning LY looks for me to obsess over. I only wish I could pull off a colorful hairdo like he does.”

“I am personally inspired a lot by young women right now. I feel like the up-and-coming generation is full of talent, verve, style (of course), and a real sense of female empowerment. They lean on one another for support and so when one rises in the ranks, a slew of them come with. Hence, why I think in 2017 we are going to be looking to Yara Shahidi, Salem Mitchell, Girls Do It Better, Keke Palmer, SZA, Chloe x Halle, Kari Faux, Gabby Richardson, and Cardi B—just young women who are doing it differently. Still, I’m just as excited by the old guard, especially the rumored reunion of DC-3. I’ve had my eye on Kelly Rowland’s style lately—it may just give Bey a run for her money!”
