Taylor Swift told Rolling Stone in 2014 that she knows all the words to Lamar’s “Backseat Freestyle” and that the song is her go-to mood elevator. She posted a flurry of tweets when he released his album last month including the all-caps message, “KENDRICK PUT HIS ALBUM OUT EARLY. NO ONE TOUCH ME.”

This unlikely pair actually goes way back. In 2011, Swift brought out Nicki Minaj for a surprise performance of “Super Bass” for the Los Angeles finale of her Speak Now world tour.
