“Burgundy with a touch of copper is the chicest combo to me. I apply a brown eyeshadow colorful stick on my eyes as a base. Then I apply this pigment I just discovered and am obsessed with from Fierce Magenta, sold on Etsy, in burgundy. I apply more pigment in the center of the eyes to create dimension and less on the corners. Then I apply this copper Jumbo Eye Pencil from NYX in Sparkle Leopard on the water line and the inner corner of the eyes. That is the magic touch. Then black mascara—a lot! I love Urban Decay’s Perversion.”

“Whereas come spring or summer I prefer to be bare-faced with freckles and a speedy streak of eyeliner, for midwinter parties I’m drawn to more old-school glamour—a red lip (my own Tell Laura Hot Lips made for me by my friend Charlotte Tilbury is the perfect warm geranium)—and a little sparkle: I use Chanel’s eyeliner palette, La Ligne de Chanel in Noir-Lamé, applied with a wet brush. Scent (Chanel’s Boy for now) is also key to an optimistic party mood, and my dream party hair is simply plaits undone to leave natural waves, which I sometimes spray with Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray. I keep my hair healthy and shiny in winter with Rahua’s Daily Hair Drops and deep conditioner. And Charlotte Tilbury’s Wonderglow is essential for the morning after as well as the night before!”

“My year-round beauty look is that of a glazed doughnut: hydrated and a bit shiny. I have only recently started using Tom Ford’s Shade Illuminate Highlighter Shader Duet and it’s changed my life! It’s subtle but luxe at the same time. I’m also loving Pat McGrath’s Metalmorphosis kit, especially in gold and copper. The pigments are so rich and decadent and perfect for the holiday season.”

“I save more dramatic makeup for special occasions. I rarely wear anything other than face oil and a bit of mascara. But for this Christmas Eve I have a party at a friend’s house, and we decided to dress up just for fun. So I’ll wear a very cozy sweater and do cat-eyes using Dior’s eyeliner with a red lip from Glossier. It just feels very festive and winter-y to me.”

“For big nights, I always start with J.One Jelly Pack. It gives you a dewy, glowy look and works as an amazing primer. Lash Injection by Too Faced is the best mascara I’ve ever used. It doesn’t run. It creates little tubes around your lashes, giving them a full look. It’s also the easiest mascara to take off . . . or not, if it’s that kind of a night. My most important essential item is Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liquid eyeliner in black. Holiday parties usually mean cat-eye for me.”
