Photos: The Social Shopper: November 4, 2011

While shifting seasons often produce some unexpected elements, who could have been ready for a major snowstorm in October? Power lines went down, flights were cancelled, and suddenly we found ourselves skipping right past the always crisp and pleasant peacoat season and diving headfirst into down parkas, hats, and gloves. There were the chic exceptions, of course, including the beautifully bundled-up (nope, not mutually exclusive) Ieva Laguna on Front Row View (originally photographed by Craig Arend for altamiranyc.blogspot.com),looking wonderfully warm in a heavy cape, skinny jeans, basic turtleneck, and boots. The look is a perfect entrée into winter which, ready or not, is about to become our reality. Better use the kinder climes this weekend to get prepared—so here’s our shopping list.
