My favorite beauty moment was the extra-long romantic braid at Valentino. Those extensions were so well executed, you truly forgot you were looking at girls whose short, tousled hair you were all too familiar with. What I especially loved was the clever, courageous (in fashion terms) lack of irony: beautiful romantic clothes with beautiful romantic hair.

This one flew a bit under the radar, but I’d be remiss not to shout out James Pecis’s excellent handiwork at Off White. As an aspirational alt-chick who grew up in the ’90s and always wanted to buzz her waist-length locks—or at least part of them—but never had the balls, I was mesmerized by Pecis’s side-shaves that were meant to look as though they had just started to grow back. Had I not seen a photo of the hairpieces he deftly wove into models’ hairlines, I would have 100 percent believed that Pecis and Virgil Abloh convinced Stella Lucia to shave her head. Which would have also been awesome.

I loved the combo of ribbon headbands, swept-back hair, and dangling earrings at Erdem. Thinking about ways I can adapt that to real life, right away . . .

I loved the nails at Balenciaga! Between the long red talons and the sharp, exaggerated shoulders, the Balenciaga woman looks a lot like Rachael in Blade Runner.
