It’s a typically gorgeous Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles when Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham arrive at Beverly Hills’ most storied hotel. The couple is here today to get red-carpet-ready for Vogue World, a star-studded soiree celebrating the enduring connection between film and fashion.
As they step into an elegant suite, they’re instantly captivated by the range of ensembles meticulously curated to reflect their unapologetically confident and effortlessly modern style. The thoughtful edit of dresses and suits comes courtesy of Express, who feature the duo in its new “Icons of Style” campaign.
“Great style should feel effortless. Express clothes are sharp, modern and easy to wear—and that’s what drew me to this collaboration,” says Brooklyn. Nicola echoes the sentiment. “When I think of iconic style, it’s not just about the clothes, it’s about the way they make you feel,” she says. “When clothes make you feel confident, that’s always the best look.”
The Beckhams are ideal ambassadors for Express, a brand steeped in heritage, yet one that is continually reinventing its signature style with designs that push the envelope. When it comes to their personal aesthetic, Brooklyn and Nicola nod to iconic Hollywood looks, but inject them with a fresh energy distinctly their own. For them—and for Express—fashion is an act of self-expression.
As the couple review the chic custom Express looks—including chic black blazers and luxe tailored pants—they’re in high spirits, honored to be a part of tonight’s VIP event benefiting the Entertainment Community Fund, which supports industry professionals impacted by the L.A. wildfires.
Both Beckhams are intentional about the way they craft their looks, especially for an event like tonight’s, when a theme—Old Hollywood Glamour, in this case—invites guests to truly create a character through their clothing. Film and fashion are different mediums, but both exist to tell stories, to move and inspire, to spark a bit of drama—and Brooklyn and Nicola plan on making an impact tonight. “I m personally so excited to see the way fashion and film costume come together, and I m so excited to see how Vogue marries them,” says Nicola.
While turning up on a red carpet may look effortless, it’s a result of both careful preparation and serendipitous creativity. Brooklyn and Nicola’s personal teams, in close collaboration with them, planned precisely how to bring their visions to life, preparing sketches in advance, taking photos as they tried on looks, and making last-minute tailoring adjustments to ensure the night goes off without a hitch. “Express really came together and made it feel so beautiful, but it really felt like our style, too,” says Nicola.
Set with their final custom Express looks—watch the video above to see them in action—Brooklyn and Nicola bid their goodbyes to their teams and head out to be whisked straight to the Paramount Lot, where the world’s most legendary movie stars made some of the greatest films ever produced. It’s a blockbuster setting for this year’s Golden Age-inspired incarnation of Vogue World.
As Brooklyn and Nicola make their red-carpet entrance, all eyes are on them. Nicola is radiant in her tailored, twill, two-button Editor blazer, worn with a peek-a-boo bra top underneath, and Express’ gently-flared Editor Studio Stretch pant. “It felt very simple, but strong and confident, and I love that,” she says.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn is the epitome of classic Hollywood sophistication in his Relaxed Black Double Breasted Blazer and modern Relaxed Stretch Suit Pant. “I chose a low-rise pant. I went for straight leg bottoms, and then a double-breasted so we match,” he says. “The outfits that we have on are very simple, very chic—I always like to base my outfits off of her.”
As celebrities, influencers, and fashion insiders glide down the carpet alongside them, it’s clear that the VIP crowd took the Old Hollywood theme to heart. So many of the eye-catching ensembles evoke an enduring elegance, yet delight with of-the-moment details. “The look we went with feels very timeless,” says Nicola.
Vogue World’s centerpiece, an extravagant runway show featuring classic movie costumes reimagined by Hollywood’s most celebrated costume professionals, earned a thunderous ovation. As partygoers raised their phones to document the cinematic creations showcased on the catwalk, it was clear that the legacy of Old Hollywood had captured the imagination of a new generation of stars, designers, and trailblazers.
