Kendall Jenner is not just a good friend. She’s a great friend. The model opted out of the last days of Paris Fashion Week to attend the wedding of Justin and Hailey Bieber. But skipping out on fashion week didn t mean that she skimped when it came to looking stylish. In fact, she was right on trend. This morning, before the wedding, she posted a mirror selfie with her model friend Fai Khadra. (They aren’t romantically together. She captioned the image with: “we don’t date, he’s just my date.”) For the occasion, Jenner gave her 116 million fans a peek of her clingy, strappy butter-soft velvet Grecian-style dress in a metallic gold-green hue. The extra oomph glamour came from a glinting, rhinestone-encrusted square purse.

One stellar feature that truly lent a chic edge to Jenner’s goddess dress was the shape of its waist. The dress’s torso portion was reminiscent of a corset thanks to its textured, sloping ridges that allowed Jenner’s whittled mid-section to be the bull’s eye focus of the outfit. Cardi B. showed off something similar this past week. She headed to Thom Browne in a skirt set with a jacket that gave her an optimal hourglass shape. In other words, let your waist do the talking this season.
