Model Friends Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Evan Mock Do Italy in Style
Last week, Salvatore Ferragamo unveiled its new Spring 2020 menswear collection in Florence, Italy. It was a show of firsts: the first for which designer Paul Andrew has served as creative director for both men’s and women s; the first time the heritage brand has hosted a runway presentation in its hometown.
To top it all off, British model Hero Fiennes Tiffin also made his debut at Ferragamo this season. “I love the color palette Ferragamo brings, and the attention to detail in all of their buckles and accessories,” he says. “I loved the prints on the shirts and the French tucks they were styled with.” Ahead of the show, Fiennes Tiffin headed to the island of Capri with his friend, fellow model and skateboarder-photographer Evan Mock, a Hawaii-born Californian, for whirlwind getaway that was all about embracing la dolce vita.
The two pals began their fun-filled week with some boating off the coast of Capri. Rays were caught, dips were taken, and much pasta was consumed. They then headed on to Florence for some sightseeing, what proved to be a highlight on their trip. “The architecture in Florence is light years ahead of anywhere I’ve ever been in terms of beauty and design,” says Mock. “The ability to just stroll around and roam the city streets was incredible and something I’m not used to doing, since I’m constantly on the move.” Fiennes Tiffin adds, “the city looks like a painting and the food is incredible.”
Come show day, it was all hands on deck backstage for final fittings with Fiennes Tiffin and the rest of the model cast. Meanwhile, Mock had a front-row seat on the action. Naturally, he ran into fellow VIP-ers on his travels, including Cole Sprouse. In addition to supporting his friend Fiennes Tiffin, who closed the show, Mock was clearly thrilled to witness the collection. Says Mocks, “I love how Paul manages to find a perfect balance of everyday looks and more formal clothes that you can wear out to a nice event.”
