This year’s Cannes Film Festival was one for the books. The lineup of new films, for starters, was both buzzy and critically acclaimed: projects such as Sean Baker’s Anora, Yorgos Lanthimos’s Kinds of Kindness, and Andrea Arnold’s Bird lead the pack with unique stories and exceptional casts. The Cannes red carpet, meanwhile, was just as exciting: Hollywood stars touched down in Cannes for their various premieres and screenings armed, as ever, with their most glamorous evening attire.
While the fashion-packed 11 days delivered plenty of memorable moments (see all the highlights here), there were 15 A-listers whose Cannes wardrobes really stood out. Whether it was actors like Zoe Saldaña dialing up the whimsy, or supermodels like Naomi Campbell reviving vintage frocks, the Cannes carpet yielded all kinds of delightful surprises. (Blink, and Bella Hadid was suddenly wearing two Versace gowns in one day.)
The film festival didn’t earn its reputation as one of the glitziest in the world for nothing: celebrities came prepared to shock and awe with their elegant looks, and these 15 in particular didn’t disappoint.
