8:50 p.m.: The finale of models stomps it s way around the raised runway, taking the stairs into the crowd and marching past fans into a backstage area. The guests took to the streets looking for Ubers. Stay tuned for Nicole Phelps’s review.
8:43 p.m.: Bella Hadid makes her NYFW debut in leather hot shorts. Kendall Jenner also took a turn on the Wang runway, showing off her own cropped ‘do.
8:40 p.m.: Among the all black looks was a series of Prince of Wales check looks including the double breasted blazerworn by Hanne Gaby Odiele. Also among the looks we re tights printed with “No After Party.”
8:38 p.m.: Model makeovers were aplenty at Alexander Wang this season, with a bob-like pixie cut as the go-to style. Catherine McNeil was among the shorn Wang girls.
8:34 p.m.: The show opens with Cara Taylor in an all black look, followed by a bevy of black-clad models inleather mini skirts and with silver chain accessories.
8:32 p.m.: Sofia Richie has arrived and taken her spot among the A-list at the far end of the room.
8:25 p.m.: Teyana Taylor, Ansel Elgort, and ASAP Rocky are among Wang’s early arriving celebrities.
8:18 p.m.: The runway is set up in the center of the auditorium, surrounded by guests pushing their way toward the catwalk. There are stairs leading from the runway into the crowd—will the models be joining the party, perhaps?
8:13 p.m.: After entering, guests were given afterparty wristbands, despite the invite firmly declaring no party. Sike! Inside there were kegs upon legs of Peroni and a “House of Peroni” sign with waiters holding trays of free brews.
8:02 p.m.: We’ve arrived at the location, the abandoned RKO Hamilton Theater on 146 and Broadway. The amount of black SUVs pulling up is in the dozens with NYPD and films crews outside.
7:34 p.m.: After an obsession-inspired collection from Area in midtown, the fashion set has hopped into town cars and is migrating en masse Uptown to Alexander Wang’s show at 146th Street and Broadway. The traffic is far from ideal, check back soon to see who makes it in time and who gets ensnared by the gridlock.
