I’ve found books to be a refuge ever since I was young. Over lockdown I’ve particularly enjoyed “Your Silence Will Not Protect You” by Audre Lorde, “The Fire Next Time” by James Baldwin, and Raymond Carver’s short stories. I personally find it to be a very calming form of meditation.

I’ve been journaling every evening for the past few months. I think it’s helped me process these chaotic times and document moments of joy. I’ve also been writing a lot of poetry as I’m working on my debut album and all my lyrics are poetry based.

3. I’m exercising.

I’ve found physical exertion really helps me to feel grounded and energized. I’ve done a bit of yoga with my dad as well as circuits and boxing every other day. I find peace in motion, and exercising has had a massively positive effect on my mental health during lockdown.

I’ve always been obsessed with tea, particularly chamomile tea. I usually use Teapigs chamomile flowers and I’ll have a cup when I’m reading, watching TV, or in the studio. It’s the ultimate soother.
