Kate Middleton turns 44 today—and in a break from tradition, instead of the customary portrait that usually marks the occasion, the Princess of Wales has released a video. The fourth and final installment of “Mother Nature,” a series of short films the princess has shared over the past year exploring the relationships between the changing of the seasons and mental health, the latest clip reflects on the winter season and the healing power of nature.

In the video, a contemplative piano soundtrack plays as she strolls through the woods in a snowy scene, dips her hand in a stream, and takes in the blue glow of nightfall while dressed cozily in a newsboy cap, a Barbour x Alexa Chung green jacket, Penelope Chilvers long tassel boots, and a Katherine Hooker cashmere paisley scarf. According to the BBC, the video was filmed in Berkshire, Cumbria, Gloucestershire, East Sussex, and the Cotswolds.

“Even in the coldest, darkest season, winter has a way of bringing us stillness, patience and quiet consideration,” the princess says in a voiceover. “Where the stream slows just enough for us to see our own reflection, to discover the deepest parts of ourselves, alongside the whispers and the pulse of every living thing.”

She continues: “I find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am. For the rivers within us flow with ease. Fears washed away, cleanse and purify. Come to peace with our tears, and discover what it means to be alive. To be at one with nature: a quiet teacher, and a soft voice that guides. In memory, helping us to heal.” (King Charles and Queen Camilla also extended their best wishes to the princess on her birthday, via the official British royal family accounts.)

The day before her birthday, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Charing Cross Hospital in London, where they met with staff and thanked them for their work, a year after the princess announced she was in remission from cancer.

Last year, Prince William wrote an emotional tribute to Kate on her birthday, writing: “To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis, and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W.”
