4 Stylish Women Share Their Back-to-Fashion-Month Shopping Lists With Vogue.com

It’s been a while since we were in back-to-school mode, and the end of summer is still bittersweet. Now, instead of shopping for textbooks and school supplies, we’re gearing up for fashion month, which comes with its own share of anxieties. Remember how you agonized over the perfect first-day-of-school outfit? This is kind of like that. . .but for 30 days straight. Throw in a dozen shows a day, tight deadlines, and mind-numbing jet lag, and it’s almost as stressful as starting high school. Of course, looking the part is a little easier when you’ve got a brand-new bag or statement jacket tucked in your suitcase, so we asked four stylish insiders what they’re buying ahead of the shows, how their street style has changed lately, and what they’re most excited to see this season. Shop their picks below.

Giorgia Tordini, Cofounder and Designer, Attico
“I don’t think my street style has dramatically changed over the years—maybe I’ve refined my tastes and I know myself better. I still keep a minimal look and play with statement accessories.

This summer I’m into pastel colors, especially baby blue. It goes so well with a tan. Black leather pants are also a must-have for me, and I’m dreaming about the most refined jewelry on the planet. I’m in love with this rose gold and diamond Repossi ring. I’m looking forward to presenting Attico Spring 2017—it’s our second season, and the collection is bigger and more complex. I think we took a step up, so I’m excited to show it to the world!”

Claire Distenfeld, Owner, Fivestory New York
“Every woman should have a power color—that color that just brings out their eyes or hair or just overall pizzazz. Mine’s green, so this Rosie outfit is perfection to me. I’ve realized through the years that day-to-night dressing is really important, as there is never enough time in a day to get home. Paul Andrew slingbacks have become part of my daytime formula—they are so beyond comfortable and are very durable for running the streets of New York. For nighttime, I feel like the balance can shift more disco. These Saint Laurent platforms keep your feet happy—they’re comfy and sparkly.

I have always gravitated toward classic handbags without in-your-face labels or hardware. Myriam Schaefer has the ultimate lady bag, and I think it balances out all my other colors. You also never know how the weather will be in September, so ponchos are a great way to keep warm without committing to a winter coat.”

Michela Meni, Contributor, Grazia
“Street style has changed a lot. I remember around nine years ago, when I was a fashion student in Milan, there were not as many people outside the shows or photographers! In a few years everything changed, but now the focus is moving back to real street style. I’ve tried to stay simple with my style, and now that I’m a mother to a little girl, lots of things have been changing in my life.

This season Balenciaga is one of my favorites. And I love Rochas’s allure—it’s extremely elegant with an unconventional mix of print and fabric. And I’m crushing on these Isabel Marant shoes; I’d also wear them with gray socks, a black leather midi skirt, and an oversize gray sweater!”

Ramya Giangola, Founder, Gogoluxe
“As my personal style has evolved, so has my street style. I think everything is just a bit more relaxed. I’m wearing a ton of flats and sneakers and keeping everything easy. I recently moved to Los Angeles with my family, so I’m excited to be in New York and Paris and to reconnect with friends in both cities.

I’m very intrigued by the new direction of Balenciaga. This skirt is a great transitional piece that I can wear in early fall with flats and sneakers, or later with tights and boots. I also love the print and femininity of Natasha Zinko’s floral polka-dot blouse. And since you usually need a jacket in the evening by the time you get to Paris, I’d love to pair this outfit with the Vetements velvet blazer. It adds a sharper touch and dresses it up for evening.”
