We never know what to expect when it comes to Bad Bunny’s fashion and grooming choices. And of course, as a co-chair of the 2024 Met Gala, we would expect nothing less but something big and bold from the Puerto Rican star.
This year, Benito is wearing custom Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection by John Galliano—an especially stirring collection in the world of fashion. The outfit includes a black satin corset, navy barathea wool smoking jacket with black grosgrain lapels, and a reverse-swatched hat made of blue foam that’s snatched in blue stocking material.
Just like a prince from a story (or maybe my dreams), he arrived on the carpet with a floral bouquet in hand, made of the same material as his jacket. The flora inside the bouquet tells a story all its own: There are flor de maga, the national flower of Puerto Rico; roses, a symbol of beauty and purity; and the flax plant, which Sleeping Beauty pricked her finger on in the famed fairy tale.
When it comes to skin, Bad Bunny brought on Pat McGrath to perfect the rest of his look. “Bad Bunny is wearing Maison Margiela for the evening and he just wanted beautiful, glowing, and luminous skin,” McGrath shares with Vogue. “Skin prep was key, using our Divine Skin: Rose 001 The Essence, followed by the Sublime Perfection System. To take his look to another level, we added subtle neutral tones around the eyes with Mothership I, and finished with a nourishing swipe of the Lip Fetish Sheer Color Balm in Clear.” His skin is fresh and dewy—like he’s just awoken from a long, restful sleep.
