“I normally keep my makeup quite natural,” British singer and songwriter Leigh-Anne Pinnock tells Vogue. Today, she won’t stray far from her signature subtle glow. The newly minted solo artist is going out to dinner with her favorite plus-one, and she’s ready to apply her quick, date-night glam. Here, she reveals her beauty secrets, from skin-care tips for jetlagged skin to a softly romantic makeup look befitting an intimate table for two.
Though she rose to fame as a member of the band Little Mix, Pinnock isn’t one to mix up her skin-care regime. While massaging Alumier MD’s Purifying Gel Cleanser onto her face, the 31-year-old says: “I’ve been using this brand for like five years now. When you find something that really works for you, it’s kind of hard to turn back.” Tonight’s routine takes the artist’s frenzied schedule into account. After releasing her first solo single, “Don’t Say Love,” Pinnock has been on a whirlwind promotional tour that’s left her with some jetlag. With AlumierMD’s Eye Rescue Pads resting under her eyes, the singer sips honeyed tea as a gesture of “self-love.” She follows the eye pads with Brightening Eye Cream. And after dousing her pout with Carmex Lip Balm, the mother of twins declares that she’s ready for “the fun bit.”
Makeup begins with a lightweight veil of foundation and Pat McGrath Labs concealer. Following, she brushes on Charlotte Tilbury bronzer and Tata Harper Cream Blush, then adds a touch of glimmer with help from a mentor. “Rihanna’s used her platform to try to make a change. [It’]s such an inspiring thing and something that I’ve always wanted to do, even from the beginning of my career,” Pinnock says while dotting on Fenty Beauty highlighter. “That was why it was so important for me to start The Black Fund.” (She describes the non-profit foundation as “a helping hand to other Black charities out there that are already doing incredible work.”)
After perfecting her preferred “wild brow” look with Refy’s gel, the newlywed is ready to go. “I’m all done for my date night with my husband,” she purrs. “We’re gonna have a good time!” And with that, she blows a parting kiss with CTZN Cosmetics Nudiversal Lip Duo-coated lips.
