“I’m Molly Gordon, and this is my ‘just getting by’ look,” The Bear actress jokes. To help her get by with a little more serenity, the 28-year-old lights a Hot Springs candle. Then, she begins her beauty routine by reaching a tool she uses when there s a very specific emergency: “If I wake up looking like a ghost who was murdered,” she deadpans. Herewith, the quite lively talent shares her guide to face cryotherapy and a natural makeup look.

After ensuring a non-ghostly complexion with the TheraFace PRO cryotherapy device, Gordon uses the Cetaphil cleanser she’s been loyal to “since middle school.” A refreshing spritz of Tower 28’s SOS spray comes next. But before she can move on, she gets a surprise call from Ayo Edebiri.

Gordon figures a Vogue Beauty Secrets shoot is the right place to solicit a makeup tip from a Hollywood A-Lister. To get a “Smucker’s jelly lip,” Edebiri relays over FaceTime, she layers Glossier’s lip balm with a Rom&nd lip tint; a Christian Dior gloss is the cherry on top. Meanwhile, Gordon hasn’t even finished her skincare routine—let alone her lips. So after hanging up with her pal, she pats on a pearl-sized amount of Avène’s soothing eye cream and starts to do her makeup.

Eyeliner comes first, following a two-step process: Gordon rims her top waterline with Westman Atelier’s Eye Love You, then uses Chanel’s liquid liner to form a subtle cat eye. Just as Gordon is explaining her eye-makeup “journey” from an Amy-Winehouse-style aesthetic to something altogether subtler, the journey continues with a slight bump in the road: While the Los Angeles native preps her complexion with Chanel water tint, she accidentally smears her eyeliner. Used to second takes, the actress, screenwriter, and director calmly wipes off the smear, reapplies the tint, and keeps things moving.

After using NARS concealer and Charlotte Tilbury foundation, Gordon accentuates her natural freckles with some help from Freck Beauty’s inky pen. A domed beauty brush helps her dust Benefit’s Hoola bronzer across her face, making “everything look a little more lived in.”

Gordon lends a rosy tint to her cheeks with a mix of two Chanel blushes, then dots on Benefit Benetint for good measure. “It’s the best, and it just makes you feel like you’ve been kissed,” she says of the latter. A swipe of pearly pink highlighter comes next, helping Gordon feel “a little flirty and fun”—then, it’s time for lip service.

“The least original thought ever: I’m a Pillow Talk girl,” she jokes, lining her pout with Charlotte Tilbury’s perennially popular hue. Something that is original to Gordon? A mole on her lip, which happens to mesh with her personality. “Everyone asks me if it’s chocolate because I’m always eating,” she says. After a dab of Aquaphor and a coat of Benetint to cap off her lips, Gordon is ready to set her makeup with Tatcha’s dewy face mist. Then, she oils up.

A swipe of Rōz Styling Oil smooths out her hair, while Everyday Oil’s Warm Feelings is a “delish” and “lovely” last touch for her neck and arms. And with that, after a quick thank-you to her guest star Edebiri, Gordon is “ready to go.”
