Remember a few years back, when the #IceBucketChallenge was all the rage? Now we have the #BottleCapChallenge, which appears to have been started by Farabi Davletchin, a Kazakh tae kwon do champion. Stars have been attempting to kick off the caps of bottles all week long, starting with Jason Statham and a surprisingly able John Mayer. The stunt is a show-off trick that demands extreme skill and precision. Some succeeded; others failed. We’re rounding up the best posts.
Please refer to Kendall Jenner’s Jet Ski execution while on vacation in Mykonos, Greece. And there was Justin Bieber’s A+ kick as well, which he prefaced by saying, “This [cap] could be Tom Cruise’s head,” jokingly referring to the fight he, for some reason, challenged Cruise to earlier this month. (Cruise did not take him up on the offer.) Others, however, missed the mark: Watch Lizzo miss the bottle on her first attempt, then kicking the whole water bottle on her second, sending water everywhere, including onto a nearby laptop. (Please be aware of your surroundings, folks.) But let’s give a shout-out to the real challenge winner here: Mariah Carey, who was able to twist off the cap using nothing but her signature high-octave note.
