The Best Celebrity Style Trends at Coachella—And How to Shop Them

With Coachella weekend one in the rearview mirror, now is the perfect time to reflect on the best festival style thus far. After all, it’s not too late to take a few pointers from the celebrity set just in time to rejigger the wardrobe for weekend two—particularly when the first round of standouts proved to be surprisingly more subdued than they have been in previous years. It’s all relative in the California desert, of course, but there is no denying that this year saw a departure from the usual tie-dye and festival fringe, with nary a flower crown in sight (thank your lucky stars). Two new trends emerged: cool whites and cargo pants. Both were a refreshing change of pace from the hippie-chic dress code that once dominated the grounds and served as a lesson on how to make a statement in the most pared-back way.

Consider Hailey Baldwin, for example: The model eschewed swimwear in favor of a lacy little custom bustier by Danielle Guizio. Thanks to the washed-out palette, the look was a little bit naughty and a little bit nice. She took a similar approach to accessories with pearly statement earrings by Alessandra Rich and rugged combat boots to complete the monochromatic message. The mix of pretty and edgy was different, and who knew you could do so much with so little color at Coachella?

Kendall Jenner kept things similarly low-key. She sported a barely there bra top with a set of ultra-slouchy army pants to reveal just the right amount of skin, which is no small feat at this music festival. Jenner also deserves bonus points for strapping on a waist bag, which was in line with the sporty sentiment and left her hands free to cheer on her favorite acts.
