Bella Hadid’s street style runs the gamut of ’90s sartorial codes—classic denim, cool leathers, vintage accessories. After internet fixation in the late Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy reached fever pitch last year, the model’s latest look proves she’s probably got some CBK saved on her own Pinterest board.
Photographed on her way to her first modeling job of the year in Los Angeles yesterday, Hadid ticked all of those nostalgic style boxes: she wore a vintage caramel brown leather blazer, paired with a black turtleneck, straight-leg black jeans, and pointed black ankle boots. For accessories, she wore a black and silver buckle belt, oval sunglasses, square gold earrings, a gold watch, and a thin black resin hairband. She also carried a brown Prada Aimee bag on her shoulder. Equal parts elegant and pared back: so far, so very CBK.
Having spent the last few days of 2025 and the first of 2026 with the rest of the celebrity set in Aspen, Colorado, Hadid has been leaning into her more casual, model off-duty sensibilities. While out shopping with friends, she wore another Bessette-Kennedy-coded look with a collarless black leather jacket, white jeans, and another Alice band. On another day, she opted for an oversized leather, with her blue jeans tucked into her vintage boots—how very Gen-X.
CBK has been a perennial style inspiration, spiking once again following last spring’s announcement that she would be the subject of Ryan Murphy’s FX series, American Love Story. Broadway breakout Sarah Pidgeon will star as the publicist, who died tragically in 1999. After the first images of Pidgeon alongside her co-star, Paul Kelly (who will play her John F. Kennedy Jr.) dropped, Pidgeon’s CBK drew criticism, largely in part for her wardrobe: a flimsy brown coat over a black turtleneck, cropped trousers, slingback kitten heels, and an empty Birkin. From the casting to the fashion, every aspect of Ryan Murphy’s sweeping forthcoming account of CBK and JFK Jr’s whirlwind love affair has sent the internet into a tailspin.
Hadid is set to appear in another of Murphy’s forthcoming TV series, The Beauty. On set in Paris, she was spotted clad in a red leather micro bra, cropped jacket, and zip-up pants—on the back of a motorcycle, no less–filming a scene with Evan Peters. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the show is set in a world in which beauty is a symptom of a deadly sexually transmitted disease. It remains to be seen whether any of her costumes made it home with her.
Emulating the ’90s minimalist aesthetic that Bessette-Kennedy exemplified might seem pretty tick-boxy, but it’s a tougher task than you’d imagine, if your mind isn’t on those high-quality fabrics and quietly avant-garde details. Here, Bella Hadid highlights how to do it just right.
