Much like last year, 2025 s spring nail colors are anything but predictable—at least for the most part. We would be remiss to not include the baby blues, lilacs, and other pastel colors that we still hold dearly in our hearts, but this springtime calls for something a bit more unexpected. We’re talking dramatic chromes, bold magentas, dark cherry colas, and shimmery pearl-like shine. And dare we bring another beauty as food nail trend to the forefront? Well, we just might.
So if a new season inspires you to switch up your winter nail color for polish shades that are lighter and brighter, then you’ve come to the right place. Below are the eight best spring nail polish colors that the pros are raving about. This is one guide you’ll want to bookmark for later.

Butter Yellow
Pastels for spring are hardly groundbreaking, sure. But they remain a classic for a reason. Celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt recommends opting for these soft hues once the weather starts to warm up. One of her personal faves is a shade like butter yellow.
Ganzorigt says that any of the polishes from OPI s new Your Way Collection will fill all your pastel needs, but to get that creamy shade, try the soft yellow Buttafly that also has a subtle shimmer finish. We like the Gucci Glossy Nail Polish in Cecilia Ivory or Essie s Gel Couture Longwear Nail Polish in Atelier at the Bay for pretty muted yellow tones. If you re looking for something brighter with a nice gloss, Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in 129 Ovni should do the trick.
Iridescent Pearl
Celebrity nail artist Holly Falcone is going all in with pearl-like glaze finishes for all her spring manis. Adding some subtle shimmer not only makes for a pretty nail look but it can work by itself or with your nail shade of choice. “An iridescent pearl topper can transform any color with a little veil of magic,” Falcone says.
Her top pick is the OPI Nail Lacquer in Glazed N Amused, which adds a pearly shine with a subtle pink tint to the nail. We also love a polish like the Dazzle Dry Pearl polish, which is a vegan formula that gives a sheer frosty shimmer as a nice finishing touch. Something like the Nails Inc. Polish in Make It Mythical gives you fuller coverage and is packed with bolder pearl shimmer (which is always a plus), while Beautypie s Wondercolour offers a nice gold tint.
Platinum Chrome
What she describes as part donut glaze, part silver chrome, celebrity nail artist Brittney Boyce says that the popular platinum chrome you re seeing everywhere now is going to trend all throughout spring as well. “I m obsessing over [it],” Boyce says.
No time to book a nail appointment? No problem. Short of getting a gel mani, you can opt for metallic chrome-like polishes, like the Sally Hansen Color Foil in Steel A Kiss or Zoya s Nail Lacquer in Trixie. Or go to the nail sticker route with these from Dashing Diva or Coolnail.
Sunny Orange
Another pastel to really lean into this spring (and a personal pick from Ganzorigt) is a light orange that will bring warmth and depth to your manis. We love this muted tangerine shade from Essie called Light and Fairy and this bright yellow-orange from Londontown called Mango. You can also try Olive June s Sweet Gracious or Butter London s Pop Orange for fun shades that get us even more excited for the change in season.
Cherry Red
A red nail works for all seasons, but Falcone loves seeing this timeless hue for spring—and we do too. Bold while also being playful and light, red just ticks all the boxes. Go brighter this season and use something like OPI s Big Apple Red or Chanel s Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour Incendaire. We also love Hermès Les Nail Polish in Rouge Casaque, which is vibrant in pigment and has a smooth shiny finish, and the JINSoon polish in Ardor for a bright red with pink undertones.
Soft Pink
From trending coquette aesthetics to the Barbie-fication of everything, Boyce says that pinks are “a total vibe—” especially right now. “I love a soft, bright shade,” she says. She recommends the Aprés Nails in Sweet Cheeks, a creamy pastel with a glossy finish. We also love the Gucci Glossy Nail Polish in Ellen Blush or the Dior Vernis 108 Muget , but you can t talk about pastel pink nail colors without mentioning the classic Essie Ballet Slippers; with its sheer finish, this beauty editor- and expert-approved polish makes for the perfect soft pink shade.
Romantic Lavender
We re always in favor of romanticizing even the smallest parts of your life—both in everyday activities or in all things manicure-related—and no shade captures that dream-like state more than lavender. Ganzorigt says this ethereal hue will continue its reign as the ultimate spring nail color this season.
Polishes like the Emilie Heathe Aurora Nail Artist Polish and the Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in Immortelle are deep and warm, while polishes like Gitti No. 132 and the Le Mini Macaron in Lavender are packed with bright energy to match whatever vibes you re hoping to bring with you come springtime.
Periwinkle Crème
While one could argue this is simply a rebrand for blueberry milk nails, there is no debating this fact: periwinkle makes for a top-tier spring nail color. Falcone loves pairing the OPI Nail Laquer in Verified with a pearl iridescent topper for some added shimmer. Pear Nova s Tokyo Afterglow and Sunday s Pearl Collection offer a light pastel blue with a creamy full coverage. If you re looking for a warm-toned blue, opt for the Côte No. 71 Periwinkle to give your pastel mani some depth. Whichever you choose, you can t go wrong.
Mocha Mousse
Taking inspo from the pantone color of the year, celebrity nail artist Queenie Nguyen predicts we’ll be seeing a lot of brown-toned hues for spring 2025. She recommends shades like the Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in Particuliere to get that creamy mousse tone. You can also look to something like the OPI Espresso Your Inner Self.
Creamy Pistachio
Channeling your inner zen, Nguyen says that it will be about choosing a calming shade of green for when the temps start warming up. She likes the J. Hannah Nail Polish in Patina, which is pastel green with grey undertones to get that muted finish, while we like Ella + Mila in Evergreen.
Muted Turquoise
In theme with going more muted for spring, Nguyen says to go for a subtle wash of turquoise that’s less vibrant. She likes the Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in Cavalier Seul, which is pastel turquoise with grey undertones to get that muted finish. You can also opt for something like Olive June’s Cucumber Sandwich.
Cherry Cola
Deep shades aren’t solely for the colder winter months. Celebrity nail artist Julie Kandalec says that deep red cherry cola nails will continue dominating our feeds this spring. She recommends a polish like CND’s Vinylux Longwear in Decadence. We also like Essie’s Berry Naughty.
Classic Orange
“Can’t be spring without a vibrant orange shade,” says Nguyen. This calls for the traditional vibrant orange shade, like the Hermès Les Nail Polish in Orange Boite or the Gitti Nail Polish in No.139.
Mystical Mauve
Nguyen calls this an understated and feminine shade of a muted purple, making it a really pretty spring 2025 nail look. She recommends using Nailberry’s L’oxgéné in Peace, while we like Cote’s Cappuccino.
Metallic Pink
Kandalec loves the Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in Charmer, which she calls a stunning shade for the spring season and demands attention—in the best way possible. “It’s a bold metallic pink, sure to catch your eye,” she says. We also like ILNP’s Showstopper; aptly named, this bold magenta is packed with shimmer for that metallic glaze finish.
