Chelsea Leyland, Leigh Lezark, and Harley Viera-Newton Celebrate Burberry’s New Soho Store

“They like the weirdos, Burberry,” said Chelsea Leyland last night. “And although they’re sort of put-together, they like the artistic lot.” The New York–based DJ and model (dressed in black and white lace Burberry Resort 2016) was speaking from the English giant’s newly redesigned Spring Street store—a sprawling, now-two-story mahogany-trimmed oasis of Christopher Bailey’s vision.

“Burberry’s like a little family,” continued Leyland. “They’ve always been really supportive of me—and all of my friends in London, like Cara[Delevingne].” The family came out in full to the Soho flagship last night, with Leigh Lezark, Harley Viera-Newton, Misha Nonoo, and Vanessa Moody stopping by to take in the transformed space (Burberry Soho now has a beauty counter and an in-house tailor, for one) and sip champagne among longtime friends.

“Burberry is such a classic staple in every woman’s closet, or like the dream staple in every woman’s closet,” mused Viera-Newton, as Vogue’s own Mark Holgate made his way through the shop, taking in British DJ Zen Freeman’s live set. “You’ll never regret buying a Burberry trenchcoat or an amazing Burberry coat, you know what I mean? You’re going to wear it for the rest of your life.”
