Carey Mulligan typically brings a romantic, old world sensibility to the red carpet—think, ethereal evening dresses by Chanel and Erdem frocks. So you’ll be surprised to hear that her latest look hinges on a rock and roll classic: the leather pant.
The British actress—who incidentally is married to rocker Marcus Mumford—made an appearance at a SAG-AFTRA event in New York yesterday to promote her new movie, Wildlife. For the occasion, she wore a pair of high-waisted leather pants and floral silk chiffon blouse, an unlikely pairing. (Both pieces are from Riccardo Tisci s debut collection for Burberry).
The trouser’s built-in cummerbund made for a figure-flattering line which was amplified thanks to Mulligan’s neutral peep-toe heels; hardly your typical rocker wife’s uniform.
