Sherry Lang has been appointed managing director of Condé Nast China, overseeing the company’s operations across its Beijing and Shanghai offices and reporting to Condé Nast chief revenue officer Elizabeth Herbst-Brady. The appointment will come into effect on 9 June.
“Sherry is a dynamic and forward-thinking leader who has successfully bridged the worlds of luxury, technology and media,” Herbst-Brady says. “She will play a pivotal role in advancing our business strategy and deepening our relationships — with both clients and consumers — in this important market. I’m thrilled she is joining us to shape the future of Condé Nast in China.”
Condé Nast China operates local editions of titles including Vogue, Condé Nast Traveller and Architectural Digest under a copyright cooperation partnership.
Lang has a wealth of experience across digital, luxury fashion, e-commerce and consumer technology. She was most recently vice president of digital and marketing for Moncler Asia-Pacific, leading the Italian brand’s digital transformation and branding efforts in the region. Before that, she spent the better part of a decade at Alibaba Group, across roles such as managing director of Tmall’s luxury division and general manager of marketing and operations for Alipay Europe. She has also held leadership positions at Ogilvy, Ebay and Lane Crawford.
“I am thrilled to join this legendary company and its incredible team, whose century-long legacy of innovation and excellence continues to inspire and lead the industry,” says Lang.
