Seems Like Old Times, Indeed: All About That Sweet Diane Keaton Tribute at Vogue World 2025

We’d know those dulcet tones—and that preppy, menswear-inspired get-up—anywhere: Yes, that was a tribute to the late, great Diane Keaton and her brilliant, Oscar-winning work in Woody Allen’s Annie Hall at Vogue World: Hollywood on Sunday night.

During this year’s fashion-and-film extravaganza, the quick clip of top models in off-the-runway fashion, custom designer looks inspired by the movies, exquisite original costumes, and extras dashing about with props slowed down for just a moment, as the Paramount Studios lot went sepia-toned and the sound of Keaton crooning Carmen Lombardo and John Jacob Loeb’s “Seems Like Old Times” came in through the speakers. (Keaton’s Annie performs the standard at the very end of Annie Hall.)

At that moment, model Betsy Gaghan appeared on the runway, dressed in a wide-brimmed black hat, white button-up shirt, brown corduroy waistcoat, pleated chinos, and a blue necktie with neat white polka dots—all by Ralph Lauren—that directly quoted a look of Keaton’s in the film.

As Victoria Moss explained for British Vogue earlier this month, the look was effectively of Keaton’s own invention: Allen wanted her to dress like herself. “Many of the clothes she wore in the film were famously thrifted by Keaton from Goodwill stores, with a few pieces from Ralph Lauren thrown in too. She helped to put the now storied New York designer on the fashion map.”

Given the night’s focus on Hollywood’s long love affair with fashion, Sunday’s tribute to Keaton—a style icon nonpareil in her own right—couldn’t have felt more apropos. La-di-da…
