Neon signs reading "Drive-in" and "Motel," snow falling from the inside, a giant disco ball, and the musical selection (’90s R&B, 2000s hip-hop) of Mark Ronson—the vibe at Coach s 75th anniversary show and party at Pier 94 on Manhattan s West Side last night was all about retro Americana.
"It felt like a great moment to celebrate the 75th anniversary," related designer Stuart Vevers from inside a neon-adorned log cabin. "We brought our men s and women s collections together so it was about celebrating togetherness. We just opened our biggest store in the world on Fifth Avenue and it s a really big celebration of that. So it s a moment of optimism and celebration which we need more than ever.”
Outside, Emma Roberts, Jordan Barrett, Drew Barrymore, and Michael B. Jordan made their way through the makeshift vintage wonderland. "I wanted nostalgia," continued Vevers as the Champagne flowed. "I wanted it to be fun. It was about emotion. And everything—the casting, the collection—everything was about bringing people together.”
