If there was a jewelry icon hall of fame, surely Elsa Peretti would be the first to be inducted. Peretti, a model, It girl, and jewelry designer, launched her namesake designs for Tiffany Co in 1974. Her sculptural jewelry was as much inspired by found objects as it was architecture and pieces she wished to wear herself: “I make jewelry for myself—real things with thought,” she stated.

Peretti fans world-round will surely rejoice at Tiffany releasing two new rings in honor of the 50th anniversary of their collaboration. The rings are scaled down interpretations of the hugely popular bone cuff and split bone cuff, designs inspired directly by the human body. The rings are designed to be versatile while also comfortable—much like the cuffs from which they are derived. The bone ring can be worn as easily on the finger as directly on the knuckle itself, the split bone ring in either orientation.

Just as Elsa Peretti insisted on democratising all her jewelry through her materials (and therefore price point) these rings will be be available in silver as well as in gold. The story goes (as was reported in Vogue) that Peretti’s debut at Tiffany a half-century ago was so successful it “exploded into a national passion—suddenly everybody is collecting Peretti.” The four rings run the price gamut of $750 to $4,800 starting today on their website and in certain stores beginning June 14.
