With the 2024-2025 Broadway season now at an end, all eyes are on Radio City ahead of the 78th Annual Tony Awards. Here’s what we know so far about the biggest night in New York theater:

How can I watch the 2025 Tony Awards?

The 2025 Tonys are set for Sunday, June 8, at Radio City Music Hall—and as usual, the ceremony will air live on CBS from 8 to 11 p.m. ET. Cord-cutters can also stream proceedings via Paramount+.

But first: Prior to the main broadcast, 2025 Tony nominee Darren Criss will join Tony and Grammy winner Renée Elise Goldsberry to host The Tony Awards: Act One, a live pre-show, streaming for free on Pluto TV from 6:40-8:00 p.m. ET.

Who is hosting the 2025 Tony Awards?

Ahead of the release of Wicked: For Good this fall, Cynthia Erivo—a Tony winner in 2016 for her barnstorming performance in The Color Purple—will host the 2025 Tonys, taking over from Ariana DeBose.

“I am so proud and excited to take on this glorious honor,” Erivo said in a statement. “I am looking forward to ushering the theatre community at large through a night that celebrates the wonderful performances we have witnessed throughout the year. I hope I can rise to the occasion.”

The Penzance Musical, Sunset Blvd., Just in Time, and Real Women Have Curves. The Broadway Inspirational Voices choir is also confirmed to take the stage.

Additionally, it was announced on May 29 that members of the original cast of Hamilton would reunite for a special performance on Tonys night, celebrating the 10th anniversary of that show’s historic Broadway debut. (It opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in August of 2015.) Set to appear? Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Christopher Jackson, Jonathan Groff, Ariana DeBose, Daveed Diggs, Phillipa Soo, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Ephraim Sykes, and many others.

The absolute locks for a Tony this year? There are a few! The musicians who make up the band of Buena Vista Social Club will receive a special Tony, as will the technical effects of Stranger Things: The First Shadow; and while the great Harvey Fierstein will recieve the 2025 Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, Celia Keenan-Bolger will recieve the 2025 Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for her extensive advocacy work.

“Harvey Fierstein’s contributions to the American theatre, both as an artist and activist, represent an extraordinary legacy,” Heather Hitchens, president and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, and Jason Laks, president of the Broadway League, said in a release on April 24.  “We are thrilled to honor him with this year’s Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre Award, and can’t wait to celebrate one of our icons at the Tony Awards on June 8th.”

And of Keenan-Bolger, last seen on Broadway last season, in Paula Vogel’s Mother Play, Hitchens and Laks said on April 29: “Celia’s star shines far beyond the Broadway stages, illuminating her peers, passions and purposes with generosity of spirit, integrity and compassion…She is truly an inspiration, and we are thrilled to honor her with the Isabelle Stevenson Award.”
