Girls just want to have fun… at the Deadpool Wolverine film premiere. Tonight, the third installment of Ryan Reynolds s delightfully gorey Marvel film debuted in New York City. Reynolds s wife, the one and only Blake Lively, walked the carpet in a femme fatal version of Deadpool s red ensemble (made by Versace) with the glam to match. Her hair was pulled back into a super-high pony (perhaps a reference to another famous red bodysuit, Britney Spears s Oops!…I Did It Again?), she kept the rest of the beauty pared back and bronzy.
For bonus points, Lively brought a Wolverine-level best friend of her own—Gigi Hadid. The supermodel wore a mustard yellow Miu Miu bandana top and skirt, clearly channeling Hugh Jackman s counterpart in the film. For beauty, she did a rockabilly take on Wolverine s cowlick-y, messy hair. Hadid s summertime chop artfully slicked and shaped into flipped ends, with her bangs in an artful swoop. Hadid took the theme down to her manicure, which was glossy black with Wolverine-esque nail art slashes.
Are Deadpool and Wolverine BFFs like Lively and Hadid? Couldn t tell you. But this duo could save me any day of the week… and have (almost) convinced me to see the movie.
