Typically, H&M is a go-to for trendy, of-the-moment items, but the brand continues to refine its sartorial approach via its Studio Collection, which first debuted over a decade ago. This season, the spring 2024 drop feels more elevated than ever with timeless staples perfect for everyday wear along with a sprinkle of glam for evening festivities.
When I first received a glimpse of the H&M Studio Collection at the brand’s headquarters, I wasn’t totally enamored. The pared-back take didn’t really scream for attention on the hangers. But after heading down to the new H&M Soho store in NYC to try on a few pieces, I was able to really appreciate all of the beautifully-crafted details of the designs after trying them on. The tailoring and construction is far easier to appreciate while seeing them on the body.
If you’re thinking about shopping the spring 2024 launch when it’s released on February 29th, consider this your cheat code to the need-to-have pieces.

The Sharp Separates
I never thought I needed an olive green blazer until trying this one. It’s a great way to add color to a minimalist wardrobe beyond the traditional black, white, and beige hues. What I love the most about this blazer is its exaggerated lapels, which look even cooler paired with the pointy-collared button-up shirt from the collection. I’m also giving this blazer bonus points for its modern silhouette. Instead of a boxy waistline it’s constructed with a streamlined fit along the midriff, while the oversized affect is focused at the shoulders. If you have bigger boobs, I’d recommend going up a size on both the shirt and jacket.
The Versatile Dress
I wasn’t too sure about this dress on the hanger, but it turned out to be an absolute favorite. The draping is so thoughtful, allowing the soft, stretchy jersey fabric to hug my body in all of the right places. And the color is a unique sunset reddish orange that would look so good on so many skin tones. Overall: This dress is a must have for all of the spring events on the calendar, whether it’s a wedding, a dinner, or a party.
The Workwear Wonders
I’m demanding justice for pinstripes right now. I feel like they are one of the most under-appreciated, slept-on prints, and these two pieces are proof of just how heroic of an addition they can be to any wardrobe. If you are planning to wear these to the office, I’d caution that the shirt is slightly sheer, but that’s nothing a bit of layering can’t fix. Outside of the office this pinstripe button-up would be a chic coverup for sunny days at the pool. Also these pants are very much high-waisted. If you want them to sit lower on the hips, I’d recommend sizing up for that relaxed fit.
The Structured Spring Jacket
When I say that H&M Studio Collection did not come to play with the tailoring on this coat, believe me. The sharp shoulders and the long, lean silhouette are sure to garner a ton of compliments on chilly spring days. As a 5’8” girl, my only wish is that there was another foot of fabric at the hem to emphasize the elegant length.
The Pop of Color
Lightweight sweater season, just become brighter with this dopamine-inducing hue. The vibrancy on this knit is like no other and the fabric is extremely cozy and soft. Another one of my favorite highlights from the spring 2024 H&M Studio Collection are the flared leg jeans. They have a bit of stretch, but not too much where you have to worry about them losing their shape. And as a tall girl, I appreciate the extra length.
The Best in Black
I never thought that I would be into the preppy polo, but I love this knit interpretation from the collection. It has a relaxed fit and the sleeves are slightly belled for an added bit of drama. I’m also a fan of the leather trousers, which are perfect for adding a tough-girl flare to any look. I will admit I had to do a few jumps to get into them, so I highly recommend sizing up because these definitely run a bit a small and they don’t offer much stretch.
