We’ve already established that it’s actually fine (and, dare I say, good) for Sophie Turner to get her party mom on in the wake of her painful-sounding split from ex Joe Jonas, but now the actor has reached new heights of Being Over It. She was spotted kissing a British aristocrat named Peregrine Pearson—no, seriously, that’s his name, although he allegedly goes by Perry—at the Gare du Nord railway station in Paris on Saturday.
Turner and Pearson then watched the final match of the men’s Rugby World Cup together, shortly before Turner took the field to unveil the Webb Ellis Cup with retired rugby player Dan Carter—who, it should be said, is something of a smokeshow himself, not that I’m trying to start any rumors.
Seeing Turner surrounded by handsome men at this particular juncture in her life would be exciting enough without Pearson’s list of titles straight out of The Crown. (He’s literally a viscount?) As it is, though, I feel like she’s embarking on her young-Princess-Margaret-dating-Lord-Snowdon sequence, and I, for one, love to see it.
For a disappointingly large number of people, there’s no quote-unquote right way for a divorced mom to move on from her ex; either she’s moving too fast or the guy’s not right or she’s neglecting her kids, because, after all, how could a mother possibly be justified in filling her life with anything but familial obligations? I don’t want to project too much onto Turner, but I will say that it’s genuinely fun to see her moving on; traveling; kissing handsome, pedigreed guys; and seemingly enjoying her life, unaffected by the retrograde expectations of oldheads who basically just think moms should be ironing in perpetuity. What’s French for “hell yeah”?
