Love is a many-splendored thing, especially when you’re gawking at it from the outside. In this column, we examine the celebrity couples who give us hope for our own romantic futures as we try to learn what we can from their well-documented bonds.
While it was objectively delightful to see The Pitt star Noah Wyle queening out with Jeff Goldblum and Ariana Grande at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday night (stars: they’re just like us! They have fun with their friends! Except their friends happen to be really hot, rich fellow celebrities!), I was particularly taken by the sight of my number-one male TV crush—okay, fine, my only male crush, onscreen or off—walking the red carpet with his wife of 11 years, actor and musician Sara Wyle. What a ridiculously attractive couple!
The Wyles have been a fixture on the award-show circuit since Season 1 of The Pitt started being nominated for, well, pretty much everything last year, but it was particularly sweet to hear Noah shout out “my beautiful wife Sara” when he took home the Critics Choice Award for best actor in a drama series on Sunday. (For that matter, Noah’s onstage tribute to “that grand old lady Warner Brothers” hit, too, given the whole Netflix-taking-over-WB thing that’s been stressing me out lately.)
The Wyles have been married since 2014 and have one daughter together (in addition to Wyle’s daughter and son from his previous marriage to Tracy Warbin), and although I know we as a society have soured on the concept of industry nepo babies, I’m excited about the potential of Noah’s kids following in his acting footsteps. Noah told People last spring that his son Owen, currently a student at Boston University, is “taking all sorts of film classes with an eye towards ending up in this industry somewhere,” adding: “I tell him every day it’s a big tent. We’ve got truck drivers, lawyers, carpenters, but he really likes the circus and so it’s gonna be hard to keep him out from under the big tent.” Extremely Dr. Robby-coded of Noah to emphasize the importance of a wide variety of Hollywood production jobs to his son, IMO! What a true mensch.
Noah’s older daughter Auden is also pursuing an acting career (she’s even played her dad’s daughter onscreen; we love cinema vérité!), and for her part, Sara has appeared alongside her husband and stepdaughter on the 2021 series Leverage: Redemption.
What’s even sweeter is the obvious affection that Noah has for his longtime partner. “For years, when we eat out, I’ve told this woman I need to use the bathroom. Then I excuse myself and just stand across the room and look at her for awhile, feeling so very happy and blessed to be with her,” Noah wrote on Instagram to commemorate Sara’s birthday last January. Am I the only one crying? May all hot, tortured onscreen doctors get to be this blissfully wed in real life!
