There are a few photographers who are known by a single name. Mapplethorpe. Avedon. Horst. And last night in Charlotte, North Carolina, Condé Nast’s Ivan Shaw, corporate photography director for art and archive development, joined SOCO Gallery’s Chandra Johnson in celebrating the opening of Around That Time: Horst at Home in Vogue with an intimate cocktail party and preview of the exhibit. Between splashy photos of Yves Saint Laurent and Diana Vreeland in their homes, guests perused the book of the same name, snatching up copies. On view until the 26th, it’s time to head south for some stylish charm.
