Takashi Murakami has recently been trending on social media. Just last week, he gifted rapper Drake several butter-soft sunflower pillows for his bachelor pad. Today, the artist had another double-tap moment when he made a front row cameo at the Off-White show. Murakami was dressed in his signature funk-tastic multilayered look that included a highlighter yellow scarf, a blue corduroy coat, shin-cropped trousers, pulled-up socks and Nike x Off-White sneakers. Another bonus point? The artist sported a Yeezy Season 2 shirt layered onto of his self-designed sunflower print shirt, a look he debuted on Instagram earlier in the day. In the past, Murakami has boasted a bright, almost outlandish personal style, reminiscent of his art. Like his past exhibition "The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg," Murakami dressed up in octopus-themed looks, hat and blazer included.
This isn t the first time Murakami has made a foray into fashion. The famed artist was a longtime collaborator with Louis Vuitton and released the noughties era must-have Multicolore monogram collection that included bags boasting candy hues and camouflage prints. Murakami has also worked with Vans and created merchandise for Kanye West. Now, let s see if there will be a Murakami x Off-White meeting of the minds in the future.
