Naturally, Jennifer Lopez’s pre–New York Fashion Week beauty prep involves getting her nails done. Before she sat front row at the Coach spring 2024 show in an oversized tan suede jacket and knee-high snakeskin boots, an appointment with her longtime nail artist, Tom Bachik, was a necessity.
“First, I shaped the nails into a softened, tapered square,” Bachik shared over email exclusively with Vogue. He also revealed that her tips are Gel X extensions—so if you aren’t able to maintain long nails, this look is still possible for you, too.

“For color, we wanted to play off her eyes,” he continued. Her metallic smoky eye had hints of lavender and silver, with a brown wing. “The gel color is a custom-mixed shade that combines Sebastian’s Spots and Chai Latte, both from the Apres Gel Couleur September collection.”
